PARIS COUTURE WEEK:
VALENTINO
Fall 2015

There's no place like homeValentino closed Paris couture's week in Rome, where the brand successful history has begun back in 1960, thanks to Valentino Garavani.

In the seven years since Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took the reins at the Italain couture house, they've never failed to amaze the audience with collections that combined the Italian taste with original or unexpected influences: this time is the eternal city to serve as an exclusive muse.
Choosing Piazza Mignanelli as the perfect setting, Valentino's models walked down the runway wearing a selection of black gowns styled with Alessandro Gaggio's striking gold pendant necklaces and flat gladiator sandals.
There were ancient symbols all over the collection: from the griffin embroidery on a floor-length poncho to the eagle, a symbol of imperial Rome, impressed upon the collection's first dress.
A tribute to Rome misterious beauty and Valentino's own ability to turn simple garments into masterpieces.
