Every year the Metropolitan Museum of Art celebrates the
opening of the Costume Institute’s newest exhibition, with an exclusive star-studded gala,
where the only rule is “dress to impress”.
You won’t normally get an invitation unless:
1) you are on Anna Wintour’s BFF list
2) you are extremely famous
3) you are wealthy enough to afford the $25,000 ticket

According to Anna Wintour, this is the biggest exhibition ever staged by the Costume Institute, given the partnership with the MET’s Department of Asian Art.
Vogue magazine is also going to publish a documentary about the exhibition and the gala: we can't wait to watch it!

Agli invitati è stato richiesto di vestirsi a tema, nonostante l'alta probabilità di insuccessi nello styling...
The guests were expected to dress according to the theme, even though the probability of seeing a few styling missteps was fairly high...

Fan Bingbing in Chris by Christopher Bu
Best dressed of the night
#Stunning
Rihanna in Guo Pei Couture
The best she has ever looked at the MET, plus this is the most iconic look from this year.
A real masterpiece from Chinese designer Guo Pei: 50'000 hours of work, but it was totally worth it!

Lizzy Caplan in Donna Karan Atelier
The Masters of Sex's actress looked incredibly chic: the dress fits perfectly with the theme without being outlandish.
Good job to stylist Ilaria Urbinati.

Sarah Jessica Parker in H&M
Yes, Ms Carrie Bradshaw can upgrade H&M: a flame-wielding Philip Treacy headpiece is all she needed.
Good job also to these ladies:
Sienna Miller in Thakoon , Empire's star Taraji P. Henson in Balenciaga, and Emily Blunt in Prada
Lady Gaga in Jason Wu
I mean, it's Gaga at the MET gala, what did you expect?
Until she hides those sparkling platforms under the coat, I will call this couture.
Gong Li in Roberto Cavalli
Pure elegance: that was her night,(as she was co-chairing the event with Anna Wintour and Jennifer Lawrence) she didn't let us down.
MODERN TWIST
Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi
My favourite fashionista did it again!
It might be her first gala, but she and her stylist, Luxury Law, perfectly know how to make a fashion statement.

Amal Clooney in Maison Margiela Couture
Just look at the bodice: a true interpretation of an ancient Chinese soldier armor.

Olivier Rousteig and Justin Bieber in Balmain
The creative director of Balmain styles Justin Bieber...
ok, how can you go from Rosie Huntington Whiteley to...this?

Solange Knowles in Giles
A very interesting and artistic piece, but it looked better on the runway.
SAVED BY THE STYLING
When the dress ain't enough, it's up to make up, hair & accessories to save the day!
Emma Roberts in Ralph Lauren
Kate Hudson in Michael Kors
Diane Kruger in Chanel Couture
Selena Gomez in Vera Wang
MsD hated it, but I don't mind it: too bridal maybe.

CHEAP & CHIC
Ok, I know they are expensive, but they don't look like that...at all.
Rita Ora in Tom Ford
Anne Hataway in Ralph Lauren
A SHEER DRESS. GROUNDBREAKING.
Jennifer Lopez in Atelier Versace
Look, a dragon!
That's real Chinese inspired couture....

Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli
Las Vegas + Chinese aesthetics + Kim Kardashian.
Sorry Kim , I let you finish, but Kanye had the best look of all time!
Beyoncé in Givenchy Couture
She managed to look stunning and diasappointing at the same time!
No justice to the theme, no effort, wrong location and yes..it makes Kim look better.

GOLDEN GIRLS
Do we get Chinese vibes here? Nope, but I can always excuse that old Hollywood glamour.
Jessica Chastain in Givenchy
Sophie Turner in Burberry
IGNORING THE THE THEME: PART #2
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture
Hailee Steinfeld in Michael Kors
Elizabeth Banks in Michael Kors,Vanessa Hudgens in H&M and Kristen Wiig in Prabal Gurung
READY FOR THE AFTER PARTY
Dakota Johnson in Chanel Couture
A silver mini dress for the Fifty Shades of Grey star and a Chanel limited edition Matryoshka bag.
#WrongPartyBaby
KITSCH FEST
FKA Twigs in Christopher Kane
You know what love is?
To wear a really bad dress and have your boyfriend by your side no matter what.
Ps: Robert Pattinson looks very good here.
Katy Perry in Moschino
It's funny because this might be one of her best red carpet look, but yet she is totally out of place. This dress takes inspiration from '90s Hip Pop era: It fits the theme perfectly I guess.
WRONG YEAR
Miley Cyrus & Zoë Kravitz in Alexander Wang
A punk/rock dress.
Perfect for the Met Gala.
Like the 2013 Met Gala “Punk: From Chaos To Couture”.
