Lunedì sera a New York si è tenuto uno degli eventi più importanti nel mondo della moda americano: i CFDA Awards 2014, conosciuti anche come gli Oscar della Moda.Last night in New York, one of the most important event for the American world of fashion took place: the CFDA Awards 2014, also known as The Oscars of Fashion.
CFDA è acronimo di Council of Fashion Designers of America, un'associazione di cui fanno parte i più influenti stilisti americani, editori di moda, stylists, ecc...
Ogni anno oltre 1.500 membri del Consiglio si riuniscono per assegnare un riconoscimento agli stilisti più meritevoli, che sono riusciti ad imporre il loro lavoro nella competitiva industria della moda.
CFDA is an acronym for Council of Fashion Designers of America, which is an association of the most famous American fashion designers, editors, stylists, etc.
Every year, a group of over 1,500 CFDA Members meets to award the most deserving fashion designers for their ability to assert themselves in the competitive fashion industry.

Un commento sulle gemelle Olsen è doveroso. Anche i meno fanatici di moda avranno sicuramente sentito parlare di Mary-Kate e Ashley Olsen, le due gemelline americane classe 1986 che cominciarono a recitare alla tenera età di 9 mesi!
Nel 2007, a soli 21 anni e dopo 20 anni passati a recitare, Mary-Kate e Ashley hanno creato la loro etichetta di moda, “The Row”, che è riuscita nell'impresa di imporsi fin da subito. La consacrazione del brand è avvenuta nel 2012, quando le gemelle Olsen hanno vinto il CFDA Womenswear Award. E ieri sera il loro talento è stato nuovamente premiato, con la vittoria del CFDA Accessories Award.

Questo è il discorso tenuto da Anna Wintour, direttrice di Vogue US, all'assegnazione del premio a Rihanna:
“Sono qui stasera per parlare di come Rihanna comunichi attraverso la moda, perché, naturalmente, questo è quello che fanno le icone della moda. Loro ci raccontano storie accattivanti, riguardo loro stesse e riguardo al mondo in cui viviamo, attraverso il coraggio e la bellezza dei loro vestiti. This is the speech by Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, giving Rihanna the award:
"I am here tonight to talk about how Rihanna communicates through fashion, because of course, that is what style icons do. They tell us captivating stories, about themselves and about the world we live in, through the boldness and beauty of their clothes. Whether it's the simple, white, Stella McCartney floor-length dress she wore to the Met — a vision of Hedy Lamarr Hollywood Glamour mixed with the hard-edged chic of Grace Jones — or her '80s [garbled] moment in a cartoonish shearling jacket and Cleopatra wig for a recent Paris Show, Rihanna speaks to her fans with her every look. And what she says to them — and I include all of us in that group — is that it's fun to feel a little boyish one day and dress up like a dazzling diva the next. I think that's what she was going for tonight. [crowd laughs] The point is to be audacious, even jaw-dropping or button-pushing — and yes, we know she enjoys pushing buttons — while remaining true to yourself. E questo il discorso di ringraziamento di Rihanna:
“Crescendo, non ho avuto accesso alla moda. Ma, per quanto possa ricordare, la moda è sempre stato il mio meccanismo di difesa. " Growing up I didn't have a lot of access to fashion. But as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defense mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, "She can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit." [laughter and cheers] And to this day I mean, that is how I think about it. I can compensate for all my weaknesses with my fashion. And so really, you really can ... I enjoy the most that you can tell so much about who some one is just by their style — the way they put fashion together. And I think fashion has been an outlet for me to express myself, to speak up, to say who I am and to be very loud about it at times, and I just like to have fun with it. Fashion is just a world of thrills, it's exciting, there's no rules, there's just ... I mean, SHE has tons of rules [gestures at Anna Wintour, audience laughs] ... Scratch that! Scratch that! [more audience laughter] There are RULES! But rules are meant to be broken. [Audience cheers and claps]".
Do you find this look over-the-top or you agree with Anna Wintour in saying that you have to take risks in fashion?
*The Enchanted Boudoir's note: il concept del look è sicuramente interessante, soprattutto per la forte vibrazione retro', ma il risultato finale non può che dividere. Chi lo ama premia la sola bellezza di Rihanna, mentre chi lo odia vede solo una rete di cristalli su un corpo nudo. Perfetto per un video musicale o un servizio fotografico,ma per il red carpet "forse" serviva qualche modifica.
Tuttavia risulta impossibile pensare allo stesso look indossato da un'altra celebrity senza mettersi le mani sugli occhi...
*The Enchanted boudoir note: the concept of this look is definitely interesting, especially for its retro vibe; nevertheless, the final outcome cannot but divide the opinion. Those who love it highlight only Rihanna’s beauty; those who hate it only see a naked body covered in a mesh of crystals. Just perfect for a music video or a photo shoot; but some adjustments would have been necessary for the red carpet. However, imagining another celebrity wearing this very outfit is just impossible!

Tra le sorprese in positivo sono felice di menzionare per una volta Heidi Klum, grazie ad un abito Donna Karan, notevolmente migliorata rispetto alle ultime apparizioni iper-sexy con effetto trash. Questo look più fresco mi piace molto: spero continui per questa strada!

Ad aver fatto un passo indietro, invece, è Blake Lively, reduce dai meravigliosi look indossati sui red carpets di Cannes.
