Last night (April 26th) TIME magazine celebrated the 100 most influencial people of the year with its annual gala in NYC. Athlets, actors, singers, artists, scientist & more gathered together for a night to remberer: so let's have a look to the red carpet highlights!

Let's start with the most talked-about look of the night: Ariana Grande's dramatic dark gown.

A lovely dress, yes, but it feels like the styling was not helping her petit figure.

I mean that ponytail needs to go and the chocker (a beautiful piece of jewellery) was a bit too much.

Anyway I have seen a new direction in her latest fashion appereances, and  I have found myself very intrigued by that: therefore you get a 'B', girl.

This girl needs a new stylist for real: she has it all, but I still cannot recall red carpet looks from her that I liked.

A pity, because she is always on point in her videos and editorials.

Finally I am able to see this beautiful woman dressed in something that does not remind me of a bridal gown (case 1 ; case 2).

My favourite by far: simple and glamorous.

I hate purple but I love this dress.

I really wanted to like this dress, but maybe the color throw me off. Besides it does not look flattering in the breast-area: you are gorgeous Gina, but this dress is doing nothing for you.

She made us hold our breath for a week…but was it worth it?

Hell, yes!

Last night Beyoncé managed to outdone herself once again by debuting her latest music project, LEMONADE.

The star tapped HBO for an unconventional presentation that is a one-hour film to reveal Lemonade as a visual album: forget the homonymous 2013’s album, because this time Ms Carter took her time to present a more cohesive project aimed to explore her private life and inner struggles.

This is no doubt a very intimate and emotional project, where Beyoncè publically addresses the dark moments of her marriage, showcasing her emotional journey. 

“Are you cheating on me?”

With this line addressed to her husband, the visual journey begins: Beyonce’s music becomes a spectrum of her feelings, ranging from denial and anger, to scorn and grief.

In the most emotional segment, the star decides to introduce the social/political undertone, by having mothers Sybrina Fulton and Lesley McFadden holding up pictures of their sons Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown, both killed by the police. Almost a prelude to “Formation,” the political track featured at the end of album, which she performed at the 2016 Super Bowl.

Beyoncè’s journey through heartbreak ends with a redemption: after praising her father for teaching her to be strong, the singer manages to cope with her pain and move on. 

Indeed, the final segment is filled with hope, as the star is finally pictured smiling with her husband and daughter. 

Visually I believe that this is one of the best projects that we have seen in years: the film was directed by Beyoncè, Mark Romanek, Khalil Joseph, Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch and Jonas Akerlund.

Tennis champion Serena Williams, model Winnie Harlow, actresses Amandla Stenberg, Quvenzhané Wallis and Zendaya Coleman served beautiful cameos in Lemonade’s visuals, while The Weekend,  James Blake and Kendrik Lamar where featured in the album. 

I can’t say if visual albums will become the new black or just a Beyoncè’s thing, but as music lover I believe that sometimes we need projects like these to remind us the storytelling-power of music.

When it comes to advertise swimsuits, Adriana Lima is the rockstar that every brand whish to hire for their campaigns. And I guess that the Italian swimsuit and apparel brand Calzedonia agrees with me, because it actually won the privilege to announce the Brazilian bombshell as the face of its 2016 swimwear collection.

The sexy campaign, photographed by Russell James, featured many cool designs ranging from neon neoprene two-pieces to crochet bikinis or monokinis.

COOKING WITH LE PRINCE #4

GATEAU BATTU

Ingredients:

500g Manitoba flour (strong flour)

180g butter

4 egg yolks

150g sugar

A pinch of salt

30g brewer's yeast

1/2 vanilla bean

100g warm milk

Icing sugar to taste

Dissolve the yeast in the milk. Then add the yolks and a pinch of salt and whisk the mix well. Pour the flour into a wide bowl; make a hole in the middle and pour the sugar into it. Take out the seeds form half of a vanilla bean, cutting it uprightly and extracting the pulp with the spine of the knife; then add it to the sugar. Pour the mix of milk and eggs onto the sugar. Knead with your hands or use a mixer at minimum speed, till the dough is dry and easy to detach from the inside of the bowl. Make a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes.
In the meantime, abundantly butter a high mould with a hole at its centre. With your fingers, create a hole in the middle of the dough and lay it down in the mould. Let it rise warmly till it will double its volume. According to your oven, cook at 160°C for 30 minutes approximately: the gateau has to be well coloured. Before taking it out of the mould, let it cool almost completely. Dust with icing sugar and voilà!

Italian version:

GATEAU BATTU
Ingredienti: 

500g farina tipo Manitoba 

180g burro 

4 tuorli 

150g zucchero 

Un pizzico di sale 

30g lievito di birra 

Vaniglia 1/ 2 bacca 

100g Latte tiepido 

Zucchero a velo q.b. 

Sciogliere nel latte lo lievito. Aggiungere i tuorli e il sale ed amalgamare bene con una frusta. Versare la farina in una ciotola capiente, praticare un foro al centro e versarvi lo zucchero. Prelevare i semi da mezza bacca di vaniglia incidendola per il lungo ed estraendo la polpa con il dorso del coltello, quindi aggiungerla allo zucchero. Versare quindi il mix di latte e uova sopra lo zucchero. Impastare a mano o con l'aiuto di un' impastatrice a minima velocità, a lungo, fino ad ottenere un impasto asciutto che si stacca dalle pareti della ciotola. Creare una palla e farla riposare per dieci minuti. Intanto imburrare abbondantemente uno stampo alto col foro nel mezzo. Bucare con le dita il centro della palla di impasto e adagiarla nello stampo. Far lievitare al caldo fino a quando non avrà raddoppiato il suo volume. Cuocere quindi a 160 C per circa 30 minuti, a seconda del vostro forno. Il dolce deve risultare ben colorato. Lasciar raffreddare quasi completamente prima di sformare, quindi cospargere di zucchero a velo. Le voilà !!
