Don't judge me by the cover - Forgive the photo I chose. I will explain everything. I'm not the kind of person who writes click baiting articles, using the names of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. I let Vogue do that.
Castings, what are those? - I really wanted to review the Fall Winter 2016 Ready-To-Wear Balmain show. I have watched the video of the show and all the photos from the runway very carefully. My opinion? Olivier Rousteing failed once again in designing an original collection. He has rather concentrated himelf on putting in the show models with a high amount of Instagram followers or models which he is friend with. Often those two things coincide. I wonder why...
The review - The collection presented once again all the favourite leitmotivs of the brand: waist-cinching minidresses, tight trousers, over-the-top embellishments and thigh-high boots. However this time Balmain went for a lighter color palette, showcasing total looks in pastel blue, pink and camel. Some of the designs were clearly a statement-making
take on boudoir pieces from the 18th-Century, like the mini crinoline skirts (nice but not very comfortable), and the present time, with those sheer lace pants and tops
trimmed with ruffles.
As I was watching the models walking down the ruway, I constantly had this image in my mind: Olivier Rousteing asking himself "would Kim Kardashian wear this?" while he was designing the clothing. I think that this was the real inspiration behind the pieces.
The styling was horrendous: bad contouring and tacky wigs. Definitely not the best Rosie Huntington-Whiteley or Lily Donaldson have ever looked. Most of all, I belive that such a messy styling took attention away from the looks. But maybe this is exactly what Olivier Rousteing wanted to get...

You see, you can trust me. I'm not click baiting: I've mentioned Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid only once so far. Well, now I made it twice. And I also mentioned Kim Kardashian. I think I'm ready to send my curriculum vitae to Anna Wintour.
Maybe I'm just a hater - I too often find myself writing articles about how Olivier Rousteing cares more about popularity than fashion. Maybe I'm just a hater. But at least I'm not presumptuous. I don't think I am the owner of the truth. So I looked for the reviews of journalists who know fashion better than I do and write for prestigious magazines.
The verdict - What does the fashion world think about the Balmain Fall Winter 2016 Ready-To-Wear fashion show? I collected some of the most popular articles and social posts about it.

Finally a Balmain
campaign I love: no celebrity models here, only f***ing goddesses!
Claudia
Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and (queen) Naomi Campbell take over the Balmain spring ad campaign in style: posing in front of Steven Klein's camera, the
three legends managed to give their fearless touch to the brand latest
collection, which featured clingy silhouettes, 80's romantic ruffles, bondage
style harnesses, crystals- and beads-applications, cut-outs and (obviously)
sheer paneling.
Here is
what creative director Olivier Rousteing commented about the campaign:
"Watching Cindy, Claudia, Naomi and Steven instinctively work together, I was struck by the displays of confidence, professionalism and grace in front of me. There was never any doubt that the final images would be anything but perfect.
[...] All the people who love Balmain have this nostalgia of the power of fashion in the ’90s when models were iconic—and this is always what I push. . . . When you love Balmain, you love Cindy, you love Naomi, and you love Claudia. It’s natural because they are iconic, they are powerful, and they are strong—and they make a lot of people love fashion."
A legendary
campaign I agree…but dear Oliver, couldn’t you resist the urge to feature yourself
in it?
Anyway after
the frenzy for the H&M capsule collection, these pictures are going to
keep Balmain on top of the fashion world, where it belongs.

During NYFW Portuguese stunner Sara Sampaio has already provided us a glamorous lesson on how to style a total black outfit: I guess she realised we were ready for lesson n.2!
The top model was spotted leaving the Victoria's Secret headquarters after her fitting session ahead of the big show tomorrow.
Cool and easy to copy: low-waist jeans, a simple top, an exclusive Balmain x H&M leather jacket, edgy ankle-boots and a Givenchy handbag.
Good job angel!

The Balmain x H&M capsule collection was launched on November 5th, and the world literally lost his/their minds.
#TEB went down to the collection's launch in Milan, at H&M main store...
...and here is what we have "learned":
Hello there!
Are you ready to keep up with the glamorous world of our favourite top models?
Let's start!

Remember, remember!

the Balmain collection for H&M is hitting stores and digital shelves!
REALITY CHECK by MsD
Here we go again: Olivier Rousteing's latest decisions have been determined, one more time, by his desire of popularity, rather than by an easthetic sense.
There is a lot to say about him, from the repetitiveness of his latest collections, to his exasperated attention-seeking, to his obsession with the Kardashians/Jenners. I'm suspecting that all these things are connected. Anyway, the first photos from Balmain's Fall 2015 advertising campaign came out yesterday, so let's focus only on them.
The theme is 'sisters', starring Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Erika and Joan Smalls. Maybe I'm evil, but the first thing I thought was: hasn't this theme been made on purpose, to have an excuse to use Kylie Jenner, and generally speaking, to use someone very popular, even though their modelling skills are close to zero? Shouldn't a designer decide the theme of the campaign first, and then choose the models that fit the role better?
Let the photos talk.

Mmm, credo che ricorderemo i Billboard Music Awards 2015 come il Taylor-Swift-Show.
Mmm, I guess that we are going to remember the 2015 Billboard Music Awards as the Taylor-Swift-Show.
Bel lavoro ragazza!
Why? Well, the awards show, hosted at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (May 17), served as the perfect setting for the premiere of her new single Bad Blood, with its hyped stars-studded music video, and at the end of the night, she was the most awarded artist with 7 trophies!
Good job girl!
Chicche della serata:
Highlights of the night:
Bel tentativo Kanye.
- Kanye West closed the night with fire: the rapper performed “All Day” and “Black Skinhead” with the censors working overtime; everyone in the crowd enjoied the performance, except for the viewers at home, who had trouble seeing through all of the pyro on stage.
Nice try Kanye.
Time to look at the Red Carpet!
RISKY BUSINESS: BEST DRESSED OF THE NIGHT
