This year the show was all about tributes: the show's highlight must be Janet Jackson, who walked on stage to receive the Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award  and a one-of-a-kind dance tribute, performed by 3 of today's best artist...

Non so se sono io o lo show, ma ogni anno mi ritrovo sempre meno eccitata al riguardo.
Sono cresciuta guardando con ammirazione a questo evento come uno degli show migliori del canale; per intenderci, aveva tutte gli ingredienti giusti: comici come presentatori, sketch divertenti, attori e musicisti famosi, categorie infantili e fantastici momenti musicali.

I don’t know if it’s me or the show, but each year I found myself even less excited about it.

I grew up looking up to this event as one of the funniest shows on the channel; I mean it used to have all the right ingredients: comedians as hosts, funny sketches, famous actors & musicians, juvenile categories and ultimate music acts. 

Right now? 

La conduttrice di quest'anno, Amy Schumer (chi?) ha sfoderato le sue battute migliori per intrattenere il pubblico (e me), ma non so se la sua performance sia stata così efficace; in ogni caso far ridere le persone è uno dei mestieri più difficili che ci siano, quindi apprezzo lo sforzo Amy!

Tralasciando le critiche devo proprio riconoscere a MTV un bel po' di coraggio: hanno trasmesso lo show la stessa sera in cui andava in onda la premiere della quinta stagione de Il Trono di Spade.
This year host, Amy Schumer (who?) worked her best jokes to entertain the audience (and me), but I don't know if her performance was that strong; anyway to make people laugh is one of the hardest job, so Amy, I do respect your effort!

Critics aside I have to recognize MTV some bravery: they aired the show the same night of GOT season 5 premiere.

lo show di quest'anno ci ha regalato una palco eccentrico ispirato ai cartoni animati, Vin Diesel che omaggia Paul Walker, Shailene Woodley che riceve il riconoscimento di pioniera dell'anno e ogni premio possibile per il film Tutta Colpa Delle Stelle, Rebel Wilson che si connette con il suo lato da modella per Victoria's Secret, gli Avengers che premiano Iron Man in persona (Robert Downey Jr) con il Generation Award (premio alla carriera), Channing Tatum che fa twerk, Jennifer Lopez che incredibilmente riceve un premio per il film Il ragazzo della porta accanto, Kevin Hart che viene premiamo come genio della commedia e Amy Schumer (chi?) che si sbaciucchia Amber Rose.

this year show brought us a fancy cartoonish stage, Vin Diesel honoring Paul Walker, Shailene Woodley receiving  the Trailblazer Award and all the awards available for The Fault In Our Stars, Rebel Wilson channeling her inner Victoria's Secret model-self, the Avengers awarding Iron Man itself (Robert Downey Jr) with the Generation Award, Channing Tatum twerking, Jennifer Lopez actually receiving an award for The Boy Next Door, Kevin Hart being honored with the Comedic Genius award and Amy Schumer (who?) making out with Amber Rose.

Per quanto riguarda la musica, MTV ci ha ingenuamente mostrato la peggior esibizione dei Fall Out Boy e la migliore di Chali XCX, che si è esibita con la sua nuova canzone "Drop That Kitty" in collaborazione con Ty Dolla Sign e la mia esordiente preferita Tinashe.
As for the music, MTV naïvely showed us the worst performance of the Fall Out Boy and the best one from Charli XCX, who performed her new song "Drop That Kitty" with Ty Dolla Sign and my favourite newbie Tinashe.

Sì oggi vogliamo parlare di TINASHE, artista emergente che non ci ha messo molto a farsi notare.

 

Un identikit flash?  

Cantante, ballerina, modella, regista e attrice (altro???) americana classe 1993: il suo nome significa "Dio è con noi" nella lingua shona, parlata nello Zimbabwe, paese d'origine di suo padre. 

Crescendo a Los Angeles, il contatto con il mondo dello spettacolo è avvenuto davvero presto, infatti già a tre anni iniziava a posare e ad ottenere parti in film. 

Perché ho deciso di parlare di lei?? 

Credo (anzi sono sicuro) che sia una delle nuove rivelazioni del panorama musicale internazionale.
